Agility Instructor
I started agility in 2000 with my St. Bernard/Collie mix and discovered how much fun it is. I have since done agility with Madie Lou and Chance. These rescues were also Therapy Dogs. My current dog, Winnie is my latest playmate. All my dogs have been rescues.
I started teaching in 2004 at the Glens Falls Kennel Club. I love watching dogs and handlers become a "team" and enjoy agility. I am Trial Chair for the February CPE Agility trial.

MaryLou fell in love with Newfoundlands in the early 1980's. First showing in obedience, she soon became interested in the breed ring and has been showing her own dogs and those of friends since then. She particularly enjoys showing out of the Bred-By Exhibitor class. She has also shown a beagle, some Bernese Mountain Dogs and Saint Bernards. She has taught obedience classes, 4-H junior showmanship and all-breed handling classes for the last 20-30 years. She has shown numerous Newfoundlands to their championships, including winning Regional Specialties, many placements at National Specialties and ranking as high #8 and #12 in the National Owner Handled Series. Beginning in her teens, she assisted multiple professional handlers, has shown and finished breeds in all groups and has been teaching handling classes for almost twenty years. She enjoys helping owners discover that they can successfully show their own dogs.
Conformation Handling Instructor
My breed is Bulldogs, I have owned, bred and shown them for 15 years. I earned an AKC Rally Excellent title (RE) with my first bulldog, Mambo, who was also a certified therapy dog. Over these years I have owner-handled my dogs to three Championships, one Grand Championship, and one Grand Championship Bronze. Highlights include showing at the Westminster Kennel Club show.
Obedience and Rally Instructor
Mary has bred, owned, and trained Shetland Sheepdogs for many years. She exhibits them in agility, Speedway, obedience and rally trials and conformation shows and has earned many titles in these venues.
Mary has taught obedience classes for 15 years and rally classes for 4 years and helps her students work toward becoming good canine family members and/or being ready to compete in dog sports.
Obedience Instructor
I have been training dogs for 35 years. I started with Labs and switched to Brits. I did a little agility when it first started; put a senior hunter title on my first Lab and have put rally titles on 3 of my dogs. But my heart has been in the obedience ring. I have trialed 3 Labs, two to UD’s and the third to an OTCh. One of my Brits retired with a CDX; one with an OM and my current dog has his UD and 50 OM points. I am a traditional trainer who uses corrections and negative reinforcement as well as positive reinforcement. But I am willing to help handlers who are not comfortable with aversives to find positive strategies to work toward their goals.
Obedience Class Instructor
My name is Maureen Kramer and I started training and showing my dogs in 1974 in New Jersey, I started with a German Shepherd then went on to a Bassett hound whose last show was at Westminster in New York City and who did numerous photo ads in the city. Now I have two Labradors who are both Therapy Dogs and are shown in Rally and Obedience and do many visits to schools and nursing homes. My younger lab goes to South Glens Falls’ after school program with me every day. My pre-novice is a fun class and incorporates beginning obedience with a few fun things at the end with friendly people!
Rally Instructor
I fell in love with Setters as a child when I saw the movie “Big Red”. My first was an Irish Setter who I worked with in obedience. We earned our AKC and Canadian Kennel Club CD titles in the 1980’s. I began with Gordon Setters in 1992 and have now had the pleasure of living with six of them. My first three were conformation dogs who all attained their AKC championships, one handled to his from the Bred by Exhibitor class. They all passed their Canine Good Citizen tests. My fourth Gordon came to live with us when she was almost five years of age after finishing her championship. Together we earned her Canine Good Citizen, WCRL Rally Level 1, AKC Trick Dog Novice, and AKC Distinguished Therapy Dog titles. Then came her son who was my first rally dog. I have been participating in WCRL and AKC rally for ten years, and with my boy we achieved titles through ARCHX (Rally Champion Excellent) in WCRL and Rally Excellent in AKC. He also had his AKC Trick Dog Advanced title, CGC and ACT 1. Now I am working with Holly. She came to live with us when she was almost 4 years of age and had finished her AKC championship and her Junior Hunter titles. She has earned her CGC and Trick Dog Novice titles so far. I have taught WCRL and AKC rally classes at GFKC since 2019. My classes include students ranging from beginner to advanced and puppies to senior dogs.
Speedway and Rally Instructor
Chris Argento has been training and showing her dogs for over 30 years. With a strong history in rescue and studying canine behavior, she has been an instructor for the Glens Falls Kennel Club for over 15 years. She also works with Woofs For Warriors, Inc., a non profit organization that helps veterans with their animals and helps them to train their dogs to be well behaved companions, and for those willing to go the distance, service dogs. It’s a rewarding experience to see her students and their dogs build the bonds that will last for their time together. A better behaved dog can go places with their people, be more a part of the family, and enhance their humans lives through their love and loyalty.
