About Us

The Glens Falls Kennel Club, Inc. (GFKC) celebrated its sixtieth anniversary in 2023. It was started by a group of dog lovers whose primary interest at that time was obedience.  Sadly, none of our charter members are still with us, but we have now grown to over 100 active members from around the region whose interests vary from loving their pet dog to competing in all types of dog sports.  Members’ sports interests include conformation, obedience, rally, agility, Speedway, barn hunt, lure coursing and Fast Cat.  We have AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluators and  ROC Dog therapy dog evaluators among our members.  The club supports active participation of our companion animals in therapy dog programs. Each year we host two all-breed conformation shows (one with an accompanying obedience and rally trial), four rally trials, one agility trial, one or two Speedway trials, two Happy Ratters trials and one FastCAT trial. The GFKC encourages good sportsmanlike competition for all dog/handler teams at shows and events.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 pm in our Training Center at 474 Corinth Road, Queensbury. They are open to members and prospective members.

This is a great time to meet members and get a sense of the activities the club is involved with. Because of the broad scope of our events, there are many ways to be active within the GFKC.

Membership Application Process

• Prospective members must be sponsored by two club members.
• Prospective members are required to attend two meetings prior to the reading of their application.
• The first reading of their application will be done at the third meeting and the second reading and vote will be completed at the meeting after that.
